Supplies Needed:
Single Rectangle Punch (you can use any hole punch 1/4 size but I found that the single rectangle works the best.)
Scissors
Ribbon, Grosgrain works best
Card that you would like to put ribbon on
Directions:
1. Punch hole where you would like your ribbon to run.

2. Here you will see where I punched my hole, as you can see it runs vertical, you can do it anywhere on the card that your punch will reach, I chose to punch in the bottom middle but I could have off set it a bit to either side.

3. Cut a length of ribbon approximately 3 times the length of your card. Insert ribbon from the back to the front of your card, leave the length to the back of the card, having enough to grab and tie left on the front of the card.

4. Pulling the ribbon, wrap it around to the front of your card and towards the hole, the piece that you have sticking out the front, you want it to be below the wrapped ribbon.

5. Now wrap your ribbon to the back of the card, towards the hole again, and insert this loose end into the hole. Pulling it above the straight piece of ribbon, so you have one piece above and one below.

6. Pull both ends(one up, and one down) to tighten the straight piece of ribbon.

7. Tie both ends together over top of the straight piece of ribbon, tying it into place.

8. Trim your ends how you wish.

9. This is what the back or inside your card should look like.

And here is the finished card with the knot tied in the ribbon.

Stamps: Cause for Celebration
Paper: River Rock, Old Olive, Bali Breeze DSP
Ink: Taken with Teal
Accessories: Ribbon

Wow... I totally love this technique! I will try this one myself tomorrow! Does it also work with a circle hole punch?

What will the punch go through? What weight of paper or how many layers of a certain weight?

Great tutorial, I will be using this one a lot, as I always had trouble getting my ribbon to lay flat, but not now using this method. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
